Audiobook Lugar X
The audiobook Lugar X, which includes a publication and a k7, is a survival manual of slow transmission that proposes an inventory of gestures to help us stay alive within devastation. Through a textual and sound journey, we speculate about the possibility of concrete actions to respond to ecological collapse. How can we remember everything we don't know? What can't we forget?
Lugar X was a multidisciplinary outdoor art project, directed by Catarina Vieira, developed between 2023 and 2025. Using a methodology of contextual artistic practices (interviews, movement workshops and performative walks), we investigated local regenerative practices, not only of the land, but also of a certain sense of community, in 11 different places between Portugal, Spain and Greece.
This audiobook documents and fictionalizes the practices found in each territory, to navigate the gap of the apparent opposition between pragmatism and poetry, action and discourse, solution and imagination.
